about nicky
With twenty years of experience in the mental health field, and a Masters in Expressive Therapies and Mental Health Counseling, I have worked with individuals from many walks of life. These include the Boston Latino community, adolescents in the special education system and adults struggling with mental health and addiction. I established my private practice after working in schools, agencies and group private practice. At HeartArtConnection, I aim to work with you as a whole individual—mind, body, and spirit—helping you navigate personal growth in an integrated way.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), HeartMath and Mindfulness practices. In addition to these evidence-based modalities, creative soul sessions and psychedelic integration offerings incorporate healing tools from ancient wisdom practices such as sound healing, shamanic journeying and creative ritual for an overall holistic experience.
My passion is creating a safe space for you to explore your conscious and unconscious mind. The subconscious often holds insights and creative solutions that are not available through verbal processing alone. Through a variety of tools such as art therapy, parts work and somatic therapy we tap into the subconscious and bring insights gained to the conscious mind for verbal processing and integration. Clients often report increased calm, clarity, empowerment and ability to navigate complex emotions with this process.
I understand that there are things you may not be able to talk about in your everyday life. At the heart of therapy is a need for a safe space to explore emotions and thoughts uncensored. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, meeting you on your unique healing journey with dignity and respect. HeartArtConnection supports adults from varied walks of life spanning diverse life experiences, cultures, gender identities and sexual orientations. Best fit clients are those seeking a holistic, insight oriented approach, ready to gain insight, grow and better themselves.

Outside of the therapy room you can find me reading fiction books for my bookclub or books related to my areas of interest in health, healing, spirituality and consciousness. I dedicate time to connecting with myself, with nature and with loved ones. Some days you can find me at home creating art, dabbling with native instruments, singing or engaging in authentic movement. Other days I spend time on the couch watching tv. I’m a sucker for a good tv show or podcast episode, coffee, cafes, walks outside. Like most humans, I have my ups and downs and I am continuously learning and growing. I utilize the tools I use to support my clients with myself as well. These therapeutic tools and ancient wisdom practices have supported me in living a more whole, integrated and embodied life amidst the challenges I face on my path.
